After opening the season on a 9-game suspension, Yoeli Childs returned to the hardcourt as if he never left.
Shortly after his return, Childs dislocated his finger and had to sit the bench yet again and cheer on his teammates. Through this adversity, Childs has still managed to be the second-best scorer on the Cougar’s roster and is currently averaging 20.7 points per game.
Head Coach Mark Pope said he's extraordinary on the court, as well as off the court. Childs said that this won't be his last roadblock in life or in basketball, and he plans to embrace all trials thrown his way.
He returned to BYU for his senior season and for the first time since 2011, the Cougars are ranked. The Big Dance is around the corner and he has confidence in what the future holds for this team.
