WEBER COUNTY, Utah — A woman was killed Friday while trying to help in the aftermath of a crash on Interstate 84 through Weber Canyon.
Following an accident in the westbound lanes at milepost 96, a man and a woman in a truck stopped to assist. While helping with the incident, the Utah Highway Patrol said the woman went over a highway barrier and fell to her death.
She was later identified as Jenna Cunningham.
UHP later said the pair of Good Samaritans saw another car coming with its brakes locked up.
“[They] ran to avoid being hit. One went one direction, the other went towards the side of the barrier, jumped over the barrier, thinking it was solid on the other side, and fell in between the two bridge structures below,” said UHP Corporal Eric Prescott.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Cunningham.
