SANPETE COUNTY, Utah — The U.S. Forest Service is asking for the public's help in a possible arson case in the Manti-La Sal National Forest.

Investigators believe someone intentionally set several fires early Sunday morning between 1-5 a.m.

In an announcement Sunday night, the Forest Service said the 11 fires were started along Skyline Drive between South Tent Mountain and Potter’s Canyon.

The fires did not spread far, with the largest burning about half an acre and the majority burning less than 1/10 of an acre.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials have asked the public to avoid the area if possible.

Anyone with information that may help the investigation is asked to call the U.S. Forest Service at 775-355-5337.
