PRICE, Utah — A teen was arrested and charged for bringing a loaded handgun to Carbon High School's homecoming football game on Friday.
According to the Carbon County Sheriff's Office, the student, who was not named, showed several people that he had brought the gun to the game but did not express any threats or "ill intent."
After people reported him, school administration worked with police who apprehended him without incident, and the gun was confirmed in his possession.
He is being charged with class-A misdemeanors of carrying a concealed dangerous weapon and possessing a firearm on school premises, and class-B misdemeanors of possessing a dangerous weapon by a minor and disrupting the operation of a school.
He was suspended, and a full investigation is underway.
"We would like to thank the community and the people that reported this incident," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook. "It is important if YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING."
