MAGNA, Utah — Unified Police are investigating a local woman's death as a homicide after she was found dead Saturday near the Great Saltair venue.
Police announced Monday that 42-year-old Akosita Kaufusi, from the Salt Lake area, was shot. It was not specified whether police believe she was killed at the scene where she was found by a jogger.
Her body appeared to have been there for several days with no identification on her, police said.
Police do not currently have any suspect information and ask anyone who may know anything about Kaufusi's death to call 801-743-7000.
