WILLARD, Utah — A senior missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has died due to complications from COVID-19.
Elder Allen Dee Pace passed away Saturday at 68 years old. He and his wife Sister Nedra Pace are from Willard, Utah, and they began their service in the Michigan Detroit Mission in December.
Elder Pace became ill in March, church spokesman Daniel Woodruff announced Sunday. He then went to "a nearby state" where his wife and daughter took care of him. He was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in early April.
"We express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Elder Pace as they mourn his passing, and we continue to pray for all who are impacted by this pandemic," Woodruff said.
