OGDEN, Utah — Box Elder County Sheriff Kevin Potter is on administrative leave after being involved in what officials are calling a "motor vehicle incident," earlier this week.
The incident occurred on October 27 in Weber County.
In a press release, Box Elder County said "Sheriff Potter remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators."
Details of what exactly happened remain unclear, but the Metro Crash Team and Ogden Police Department are investigating.
Box County added "Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident."
Earlier this year Potter lost his primary reelection bid to Mike Allred by more than 2,000 votes.
