SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Public Safety says that a missing 29-year-old man, August Beckwith, has been found alive and safe.

Beckwith went missing near the University of Utah on November 17, with no phone or money. Because Beckwith is on the autism spectrum and nonverbal, the family was concerned for his safety.

Taylorsville police say they found him inside a Taylorsville Apollo Burger on Wednesday night. According to the department, their officers were called by a customer concerned that Beckwith was acting odd.

When police arrived, they were able to identify him and get in contact with his family.

Officers say Beckwith appeared in fairly good condition considering that he was missing for weeks.
