ALTA, Utah — Authorities have identified the people involved in a deadly plane crash in Little Cottonwood Canyon over the weekend.
The plane went down in the Albion Basin area near Alta Ski Area around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday. When Unified Fire Authority and Alta Town Marshal personnel arrived, they found one person dead and another injured.
On Tuesday, the sheriff's office identified the deceased man as 55-year-old Christopher Marx, while Alex Dulude, 40, was identified as the injured victim who was airlifted to the hospital and remains in critical condition.

Marx and Dulude were the only two people on board the plane.
"Our hearts go out to those loved ones of the people who are injured," Alta Mayor Roger Bourke said Sunday night.
The FAA and NTSB arrived Monday to begin their investigation. Some nearby areas will be closed off to the public, but the sheriff's office is asking people to avoid the Albion Basin area in general. The sheriff's office said the federal agencies' investigation is expected to be done sometime on Tuesday.
FAA information shows it was a Piper Arrow plane that was registered to an LLC in Maryland.
According to the flight tracking website FlightAware.com, it had crossed the country from Virginia to Nevada over the last week and a half before entering Utah.
Audio recordings by LiveATC.net captured the Salt Lake tower communicating with the plane as it flew through airspace near the Salt Lake airport: “47X, copy. The only traffic I see is about 11:00 and eight miles, southbound, altitude indicates 6,600. Radar service terminated, squawk VFR and frequency change approved. Have a good day!”
