MURRAY, Utah — One suspect is in custody after several police and SWAT vehicles responded to an incident at a Murray apartment complex Friday evening.

Murray officers assisted the Constables to evict an uncooperative tenant at the Miller Estate Apartment Complex. The tenant had barricaded their bedroom in the apartment.

Negotiations were unsuccessful, the tenant later pointed a handgun at officers through an open window.

Murray Police SWAT teams responded with chemical munitions. After several hours of negotiations, the subject was eventually taken into custody without further incident.

Police say there is no threat to the community at this time.

The subject was treated for exposure to pepper powder and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
