OGDEN, Utah — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a Union Pacific train in Ogden on Wednesday morning.
The Ogden Police Department said the 31-year-old male victim was hit by the southbound train just before 5 a.m. near 3550 Pacific Avenue. After first responders arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's not yet known whether the man intentionally stepped in front of the train before his death. The man's identity has been confirmed, and his next of kin is being notified.
Ogden police, along with the Weber-Morgan County Metro CRASH Team, are investigating the incident, and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
