Shelter-in-place order issued for parts of Taylorsville due to police activity

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A shelter-in-place order has been issued for an area in Taylorsville, although the reason for the order has not been released.

The Taylorsville Police Department said the order is for the area near 5900 South 3840 West due to "police activity."

People are being warned to stay away from the area until the scene has been cleared.

The Granite School District said they were aware of police activity, but no schools have entered emergency protocols. Students are being told to walk away from the area in question when leaving school.
