SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a 2018 homicide.

According to SLCPD, 47-year-old Wanyun Judd was shot to death while sleeping in her bed at 54 E Harrison Ave., between Main and State streets, around 6:30 a.m. on September 28, 2018.

"This is one of those cases where our detectives have put a ton of work in, but they're kind of out of leads, and we're hoping that there's someone out there that, maybe with this reward, knows something, saw something, can get us that suspect and bring us both an arrest and conviction," said Det. Michael Ruff, SLCPD.

Investigators believe Judd's home was mistakenly targeted in the shooting.

"We believe she likely was not the intended target, she was just an innocent person in her home when this event occurred," said Sgt. Brandon Shearer, SLCPD, in a 2018 interview. "So it's very sad and we're hoping to bring some closure to the family."

Anyone with information on the homicide is urged to call 801-799-3000 and reference case 18-178543.
