MIDVALE, Utah — A man and woman are dead after a domestic violence call that led to a SWAT standoff in Midvale Friday morning.

According to Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen, police were called Friday at about 10:30 a.m. to Candlestick Apartments near 100 E. 7800 S. A wanted man had barricaded himself inside the apartment, who police said had a long rifle with a scope.

Police were in contact with the suspect at one point, but later heard gunshots inside the apartment and communication with suspect stopped. SWAT sent in a robot to survey the apartment, and around 2 p.m. police announced that a man and woman were both dead inside the apartment.

The deceased man and woman were later identified as Isaac Andre Renfro and Miranda Schachinger, both 26 years old from Midvale.
