PROVO, Utah — Officials confirm one person is dead after a small plane crashed into a body of water just south of the Provo Airport Friday afternoon. Another person was rescued from the plane.
The plane was piloted by a female pilot with a male passenger; officials said that they left the Provo Airport around 4:00 p.m. when they experienced an issue that caused them to go down shortly after takeoff.
The male passenger died during the crash, and the female pilot survived.
Officials expect the NTSB to arrive for the investigation Saturday morning.
