BATON ROUGE, La. — An 11-year-old child stole a school bus Sunday and taunted police during a pursuit through Louisiana city streets.
The unnamed juvenile from Baton Rouge stole the privately-owned bus around 11 a.m. Sunday. Since the child couldn't reach the pedals of the bus, which had a push-to-start ignition, he stood up while driving the vehicle.
As the child drove around the city, he flipped his finger at police officers, WBRZ reports.
The pursuit lasted for 30 minutes before the child crashed the bus into a gas line, and then a tree.
No injuries were reported and the boy was taken into custody.
#update Here’s a closer look at the bus. The homeowners said they saw the kid get out of the bus and he looked okay. Still no confirmation on an age, but the homeowners say the child was very small. @WBRZ pic.twitter.com/vg8bCFNnWG
