SANDY, Utah — Two coaches for Utah Royals FC have been placed on administrative leave, according to a report from The Salt Lake Tribune.

Head coach Craig Harrington and assistant coach Louis Lancaster have been placed on administrative leave by the club, a spokesperson said Sunday afternoon. The news was first announced during the broadcast of the game that resulted in a 0-3 loss to the Portland Thorns.

Amy LePeilbet has been named head coach in the interim, a club spokesperson said. She coached Sunday’s game against Portland.

The Athletic reported that Harrington and Lancaster’s leave are directly related to the ongoing investigations into alleged racist and sexist comments and other workplace misconduct that has surfaced in recent weeks in the Royals FC and Real Salt Lake front office.
