SALT LAKE CITY — A semi truck accident sent beer cans flying across westbound Interstate 80 in Salt Lake City, blocking traffic for miles.
The semi-truck was hauling beer westbound on I-80, approaching the turnoff to I-215, when it lost its brakes, leaving the ramp before colliding with the embankment.
The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The contents of the semitruck ejected from the trailer and onto the freeway, briefly closing I-80 as crews cleared the road.
Highway cameras show the truck flipped over a barrier at the mouth of Parleys Canyon, with traffic stopped as crews clean up the road.
The Utah Department of Transportation said the semi truck was hauling beer when the accident occured.
