SALT LAKE CITY — One person was killed in what police are calling an industrial accident in Salt Lake City on Tuesday.
According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, the unidentified person fell to their death at the Rio Grande Depot along 300 West and Rio Grande Street.
Police told FOX 13 News on Wednesday that a construction worker was in the attic of the depot when he fell through a space that wasn't protected by the flooring. Detectives say no one witnessed the fall, but they don't believe there is anything suspicious.
The investigation is being taken over by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration who will be looking into whether the proper safety measures were being taken.
A GoFundMe created to help the family identifies the man as Ricardo De La Torre.
