PROVO, Utah — All southbound lanes of Interstate 15 in Provo were closed late Monday night.
The Utah Department of Transportation reported the closure after a "multi-vehicle crash" around 9:30 p.m. Officials say that a truck hauling a load of construction equipment lost control near mile marker 266 and crashed into a barrier and another vehicle.
As the truck crashed, police say it flipped around the wrong way and ended partially on the barrier, sending concrete from the barrier onto the southbound lanes of the interstate.
Officials estimate that 15 cars hit the chunks and suffered flat tires and damage. There were no injuries.
The lanes were reopened by about 10 p.m., and traffic flow appeared to be back to normal by 10:30.
