PROVO, Utah — A bear spotted in a Provo neighborhood early Wednesday was finally located and captured hours later.
Provo Police said they received two calls from residents who saw the bear near the east bench of the city around 10:30 a.m.
Animal control and Utah Division of Wildlife Resources personnel responded but were not originally able to find the bear.
However, along with the assistance of a drone team, "Smokey Jr." was spotted near 1600 North and 1450 East later in the evening. The bear was safely cornered and tranquillized so that it could be relocated to its natural habitat.
