SPRINGDALE, Utah — A wildfire burning inside Zion National Park has grown to approximately 25 acres, forcing the closure of a road and trail in the area.

The Blue Creek Fire, which was sparked by lightning on Tuesday, is in the West Rim area of the park and expanded over 15 acres overnight.

Twenty-five wildland firefighters are battling the flames, along with a Type 3 helicopter that is conducting water drops.

Due to the fire, Lava Point Road has been closed, and the West Rim trail is closed between Scout Lookout and Lava Point.
